The Melville Millionaires have hired Antonio Di Paolo as the club’s new assistant to head coach and general manager Doug Johnson.

Di Paolo, 25, featured in 139 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League contests split between the Humboldt Broncos and La Ronge Ice Wolves as a defenceman from 2015 to 2019.

The La Ronge, Sask., native then moved on to the North American Hockey League’s Aberdeen Wings before spending two season in NCAA Division I hockey with the University of Alaska at Fairbanks.

A proud northerner, Di Paolo received the SJHL’s RBC Community Ambassador for the 2018-19 campaign.

He replaces the departed Geordie Wudrick, who had accepted a head coaching job with the Creston Valley Thunder Cats of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Welcome home, Antonio!
