Hockey Saskatchewan Awards

The Hockey Saskatchewan Awards are given annually to volunteers, coaches and Minor Hockey Associations in recognition of their efforts in promoting and improving the game of hockey within the province. The following four (4) awards are given out:

  • Outstanding Coach
  • Outstanding North Volunteer (Zones 5-8)
  • Outstanding South Volunteer (Zones 1-4)
  • Minor Hockey Association of Distinction

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS APRIL 15th OF EVERY SEASON


Coach of the Year

Presented to a coach who has made an outstanding contribution to amateur hockey during the season. The nominee has provided a fun and safe learning environment for the players and made an outstanding contribution to the community through volunteerism and coaching.

Volunteer of the Year (North/South)

Presented to two (2) volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to amateur hockey during the season. The nominees have volunteered their time to contribute to the success of their minor hockey association, team and/or facility.

Minor Hockey Association of Distinction

Presented to a Minor Hockey Association (MHA) that has made an outstanding contribution to its community and stood out as a shining example on the minor hockey landscape. Here is a link to the Zone Map encompassing all of the province's MHAs.

Past Award Winners

Officiating Development Program Awards

The Officiating Development Program (ODP) gives out 12 awards each season and alternates annually between Southern Zones (1-4) and Northern Zones (5-8). These are decided upon by the program’s committee.

The following awards are given out:

  • Most Improved Officials (4 annually)
  • Most Promising Officials (4 annually)
  • Most Deserving Officials (4 annually)

These winners are given a plaque as well as nominated for the Hockey Canada Officiating Development Program Awards.
