Sask First Female Under-18 (U18)
Female Under-18 Program
The Sask First Female Under-18 Program is a milestone of female hockey development in the province, beginning each season with regional camps held at two locations in the north and south of Saskatchewan. These camps are open to all players within the age division, providing a foundational platform for emerging talent. From these regional camps, the top players are selected to participate in the prestigious Sask First Tournament held in April. This tournament serves as a critical step in the selection process, with up to 30 players chosen to attend the subsequent summer and fall camps.
This rigorous process offers players not only the chance to compete against their peers but also to gain significant visibility. Sask First events attract a broad spectrum of scouts from elite leagues, ensuring that participants receive ample exposure and recognition. This visibility can open doors to further opportunities and advancement in their hockey careers.
Moreover, the Sask First Program plays a pivotal role in the selection of Team Saskatchewan, which competes in prestigious Western Canadian and national competitions. By serving as a pathway to Hockey Canada’s high-performance program, the Sask First Program helps athletes progress toward representing Canada on its national teams. This program embodies a commitment to excellence and a dedication to nurturing the next generation of elite hockey players, bridging local talent with national and international opportunities.
