REGINA, Sask. – Top hockey talent from across Saskatchewan will come together at the Co-operators Centre in Regina from December 28 to 30, 2025, for the Male Under-15 (U15) Top 160 Tournament, hosted by Hockey Saskatchewan as part of the Sask First high-performance program and serving as a key step toward selection for the 2027 Canada Winter Games.

This tournament is the second phase of evaluations for players born in 2011. After attending recent north and south regional camps in Aberdeen and Lumsden, these athletes have earned the chance to showcase their skills. The event kicks off Sunday morning with team practices, giving coaches an extra opportunity to evaluate players before games begin.

Over three days, eight teams will compete in a round-robin format, culminating with the A, B, C, and D finals on Tuesday, December 30. The tournament is a key step in selecting the Top 80 players who will move on to the next phase of the Sask First program.

Evaluations continue in the new year when the Top 80 players gather for a tournament in Balgonie, Sask., from February 13 to 15, 2026. From this group, the final 34-player roster will be chosen to then form the Male U16 team representing Saskatchewan at the 2027 Canada Winter Games.

The Sask First program also offers development opportunities for referees and linespersons. Officials who attended regional camps, receiving on- and off-ice instruction from experienced Saskatchewan Officiating Development Model (SODM) coaches, will be selected for the Top 160 Tournament, where they will be evaluated and gain valuable experience officiating at higher levels.
