Building Resiliency Webinars

Hockey Saskatchewan Building Resiliency Program

Program Overview

Hockey Saskatchewan is pleased to continue its partnership with Mental Performance Consultant Kyle McDonald to deliver the Building Resiliency Program, a development webinar series designed to help parents and coaches support the mental performance and mental health of young athletes.

The program provides practical tools and age-appropriate discussion points to help athletes build the mental skills needed to perform under pressure, navigate adversity and maintain a healthy relationship with sport throughout their hockey journey.

Mental performance and mental health are interconnected. As athletes develop skills such as emotional regulation, confidence, purpose and effective coping strategies, they are better equipped to perform consistently, respond to challenges and enjoy long-term participation in hockey.

  • Target Audience: Parents & Coaches
  • Age Division Discussion Keys: Under-11; Under-13; Under-15; Under-18 & Junior
  • Host: Kyle McDonald, mental performance consultant & owner of Competitive Will Performance Consulting
  • Number of Modules/Webinars: 5

2026-27 Program Purpose

Athlete development goes far beyond skills and systems. As players progress from Under-11 to Junior, the program will explore key areas of development, from building confidence and self-awareness to developing resilience, accountability, leadership and overall wellbeing.

The goal of the Building Resiliency Webinars is not simply to develop hockey players. It is to help develop resilient, confident and mentally healthy young adults who can thrive in hockey and in life.

Through a psychological lens, the program aims to broaden the perspective of athlete development and provide parents and coaches with practical strategies they can use to support players at every stage of their hockey journey.
