REGINA, Sask. – Young hockey talent from across the province will gather at the Co-operators Centre in Regina from December 28 to 30, 2024, for the Male Under-15 (U15) Top 160 Tournament, hosted by Hockey Saskatchewan and the Sask First high-performance program.
This event marks the second phase of evaluations for athletes born in 2010. After competing in recent north and south regional camps, these players have earned their opportunity to showcase their skills. The tournament begins Saturday morning with team practices, providing coaches with an additional opportunity to assess players before the action begins.
Over the course of three days, eight teams will face off in a round-robin format, leading to an exciting conclusion with the A, B, C, and D finals on Monday, December 30. This tournament serves as a critical step in identifying the Top 80 U15 players who will advance to the next phase of the Sask First program.
The evaluation process will continue in the new year when the Top 80 players convene for a tournament in Balgonie, Sask., from February 14 to 16, 2025. From there, the final roster of 20 players will be selected to form the Male Under-16 group, which will represent Saskatchewan at the 2025 WHL Cup.
