JOB POSTING

  • POSITION:       COORDINATOR, OFFICIATING DEVELOPMENT
  • LOCATION:      REGINA, SK
  • STATUS:          FULL-TIME

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Manager, Officiating Development, the Coordinator position will be tasked with activities associated with officiating development, recruitment, retention, education, support, communication and coaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Possess knowledge of effective marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrate strong writing and editing skills.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Is able to work independently and be a self-starter.
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To coordinate the annual officials’ certification and recertification course presentation via virtual, in-person and/or on-ice as required.
  • To coordinate the recruitment, education and scheduling of instructors for all officiating clinics and the members of the Hockey Saskatchewan Officiating Development Program Instructional Task Team.
  • To ensure the distribution and receiving of clinic material with instructors.
  • To maintain the certification records of Hockey Saskatchewan Officials and update their qualifications including Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks.
  • To coordinate and communicate the registration process for new and returning officials.
  • To establish continued educational and development opportunities based on rules, procedures and situations throughout the season and off-season programming.
  • To establish a safe places environment plan for officials to lead a committee to develop a plan for minor hockey associations, leagues and teams to understand the expectations of communication with officials and all others involved in hockey.
  • Provide resources and support to teams, players and associations regarding rules and expectations regarding officials and the Hockey Canada playing rules.
  • To communicate with officials on the tracking of game sheets during Hockey Saskatchewan Provincial Playoffs and recognition of provincial championship assignments for officials.
  • To assist Manager, Officiating Development with programming and execution of Sask First Camps and Tournaments.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Able to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Cellphone and laptop provided by Hockey Saskatchewan.
  • Compensation range: $42,420 - $60,600.
