REGINA, Sask. – Hockey Saskatchewan held its 111th Annual General Meeting (AGM) virtually with the Board of Directors as well as Minor Hockey Association (MHA) representatives on June 20, 2023.

The agenda for the AGM included various topics such as acknowledgments, reports, financial statements, organizational procedures, and voting on bylaw amendments. The amended bylaws ensure strong gender diversity on the Board of Directors, with a minimum requirement of one female candidate filling one of the three open positions.

  • Carla Odnokon – Saskatoon
  • Brent Zbaraschuk (Returning) – Prince Albert

“We are excited to be welcoming two new Board members along with one returning member after last night’s elections. I look forward to working with the nine Board members and seeing what they and the Hockey Saskatchewan staff can achieve together in the proceeding seasons,” said Hockey Saskatchewan General Manager Kelly McClintock. “As we continue to make ground with the 2022-25 Strategic Plan with our Members, Hockey Saskatchewan will embark on a 112th season that will help share Canada’s wintertime sport and the power of recreation opportunities across the province.”

Hockey Saskatchewan would like to congratulate the successful candidates and looks forward to working with them toward growing the game and shaping character. This gratitude is extended to the three other candidates who took the time and effort to apply for the positions as well.

The unwavering dedication of MHAs, volunteers, parents, athletes, and coaches has ensured that people across Saskatchewan have access to exceptional, safe, and inclusive sports experiences. Their commitment highlights the transformative power of hockey as more than a game.”

With former board director Jason Gordon completing his term, Hockey Saskatchewan extends its profound appreciation for his service and wishes him the best with all future endeavours.
