SMHA Welcomes Andrew Bailey as Manager of Development and Hockey Operations

SASKATOON, Sask. – The Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Bailey as Manager of Development and Hockey Operations. Andrew will officially join SMHA on March 3, 2025, bringing a wealth of experience in both hockey and business to this newly created role.
A native of Hazlet, Sask., Andrew’s extensive background as a player, coach, and operations leader makes him a valuable addition to the SMHA team. His playing career includes four seasons with the WHL’s Kootenay Ice and five years with the University of Saskatchewan (USask) Huskies, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a focus on management.
Andrew’s coaching experience spans multiple levels, including time with the USask Huskies Men’s Hockey Program, the Under-18 (U18) AAA Saskatoon Contacts, and the U18 AA Saskatoon Riverkings. Most importantly, he has spent the past two seasons coaching in SMHA’s Under-7 division, fostering a love for the game at the grassroots level. In addition to his hockey background, Andrew has served as a Director of Operations in his current role, further strengthening his leadership and development expertise.
