REGINA, Sask. – The Regina Pats are proud to announce that Jordan Eberle has been named the Sask Sport, 2010 Saskatchewan Athlete of the Year.
It’s been a year since the all-star forward had a blue, red and white jersey on his back, but Jordan is still being acknowledged for his accomplishments with the Regina Pats.
In 2010, Eberle was on the top of the hockey world:
- Top Player 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships representing Team Canada.
- All-Star 2010 World Junior Hockey Championships representing Team Canada.
- WHL and CHL Most Valuable Player as a member of the Regina Pats
- WHL and CHL 1st team All-Star as a member of the Regina Pats
- 2nd in scoring and goals in the WHL, tops in points per game as a member of the Regina Pats
A Regina native, Jordan is a product of the Saskatchewan Hockey Association and beat out Olympic curler Ben Hebert and Olympic Speed Skater, Lucas Makowsky for Saskatchewan’s top athlete.
Jordan is currently finishing the NHL season with the Edmonton Oilers and was unable to make the ceremony, so he asked Regina Pats President and Governor, Brent Parker to accept the top athlete award in his honour at the Sask Sport Awards banquet at TCU Place in Saskatoon tonight.
