36th Year of Education Assistance Program Supports Sask. Students & Officials

REGINA, Sask. – Hockey Saskatchewan is pleased to announce the recipients of the Education Assistance Program Grants for the 2024-25 season, marking the 36th year of this program.
These grants recognize the dedication of members pursuing post-secondary education at institutions in Saskatchewan. Unlike athletic scholarships, these grants focus on supporting the academic goals of players, coaches, referees, and linespersons.
This year, 18 members have been awarded $1,000 each, including 10 women, representing communities from across the province:

The program can award up to 21 grants each year across multiple categories, and for the 2024-25 season, 29 applications were received.
Since 1990-91, over 438 grants totaling more than $439,000 have been awarded. Funding comes from the Hockey Saskatchewan Scholarship Fund, established with surplus funds from the 1991 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship in Saskatchewan.
Applications for the 2025-26 program are open to eligible members and must be submitted by August 31 of the hockey season. Details on eligibility and application requirements are available through the link below.
