Important Dates for 2026-27 Season

2026

JUNE 1    

• Final date for Teams/Associations wishing to play in Leagues registered outside of Hockey Saskatchewan to apply to the Registration Committee for approval to do so

JULY 1

• For AAA and AA, a player must establish physical residence in the center prior to July 1^st of the current season and continue to reside in said center for the balance of the current season

AUGUST 4

• Hockey Saskatchewan Annual General Meeting

SEPTEMBER 1     

• A player must establish physical residence in the center prior to September 1st of the current season and continue to reside in said center for the balance of the current season
• Final date for Leagues wishing to allow teams registered outside of Hockey Saskatchewan to participate in their league to apply to the Registration Committee for approval to do so

SEPTEMBER 1-9 

• Tryouts for U16 AA can begin on September 1^st with a Registration Deadline with Hockey Saskatchewan of September 9th

SEPTEMBER 8

• Registration Deadline, by 5:00 p.m., for U18 AAA teams to register with Hockey Saskatchewan

SEPTEMBER 10-20

• Tryouts for U18 AA and U15 AA can begin on September 10^th with a Registration Deadline with Hockey Saskatchewan of September 20^th

SEPTEMBER 15    

• Final date for all Minor Hockey Associations to complete their local registration

SEPTEMBER 17-27   

• Tryouts for U13 AA can begin on September 17^th with a Registration Deadline with Hockey Saskatchewan of September 27^th

OCTOBER 15

• Final date for all Minor Hockey Associations to register with Hockey Saskatchewan

NOVEMBER 1      

• Final date for players attending a Hockey Canada School with Residence to take up residence
• Associations may start to apply online to register a Provincial team
• Associations may start to apply online to register a Carded team

NOVEMBER 15   

• Final date, by 5:00 p.m., for Associations to apply online to register a Carded team

NOVEMBER 30   

• Final date to apply for a concession for Junior, U18 AAA and all AA teams

DECEMBER 1     

• Final date, by 5:00 p.m., for Associations to apply for Hockey Saskatchewan Provincial Playoffs without penalty fee assessed
• Final date, by 5:00 p.m., for Carded team rosters to be submitted to Hockey Saskatchewan

DECEMBER 4-6

• Male U15 Sask First Regional Camps

DECEMBER 8    

• Final date, by 5:00 p.m. for Associations to apply for Hockey Saskatchewan Provincial Playoffs with the penalty fee assessed

DECEMBER 11-13

• First Carded Weekend

DECEMBER 13

• Sask First Para Camp – Outlook, Sask.

DECEMBER 15     

• Final date for Provincial play-off trophies to be returned to the Hockey Saskatchewan office
• Final date for team officials to be removed from a team roster
• All Female U13 Teams who have entered Provincial Playoffs must return all Provincial Team Registration forms to Hockey Saskatchewan

DECEMBER 20    

• All Minor Teams who have entered Provincial Playoffs must return all Provincial Team Registration forms to Hockey Saskatchewan
• Date by which all team officials must have obtained the appropriate coaching credentials as per Hockey Saskatchewan minimum coaching certification guidelines as well as a valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check

DECEMBER 28-30   

• Male U15 Sask First Top 160 Tournament - Regina, Sask.

DECEMBER 30    

• All Senior Teams who have entered Provincial Playoffs must return all Provincial Team Registration forms to Hockey Saskatchewan

2027

JANUARY 8-10  

• Second Carded Weekend

JANUARY 10    

• Final date for players to be released and be eligible to register with another team
• Final date teams may apply to register for that season
• Final date by which Junior clubs must reduce their roster to 25 cards
• Final date by which additions can be made to any affiliation list

JANUARY 11   

• Final date for a Concession to be filed with the Hockey Saskatchewan Registration Committee for the current year

JANUARY 15    

• Final date by which additions can be made to any Junior team’s affiliation list

JANUARY 15-17

• Hockey Day in Saskatchewan

FEBRUARY 5-7

• Male U18, Female U18 & Female U16 Sask First Regional Camps

FEBRUARY 10    

• Final date for player registration

FEBRUARY 12-14    

• Male U15 Sask First Top 80 Tournament – TBD

FEBRUARY 19-21

• Third Carded Weekend

FEBRUARY 24 - MARCH 7

• Canada Winter Games (Male) - Quebec City, QC

MARCH 1    

• Final date for nominations for Life Membership to be received by the General Manager

MARCH 5-14

• Canada Winter Games (Female) - Quebec City, QC

MARCH 26-28   

• Fourth Carded Weekend

APRIL 1    

• Motions to amend Bylaws and Constitution must be in writing to the office of the General Manager
• TELUS Cup West Regionals – TBD
• Esso Cup West Regionals – TBD

APRIL 2-4

• Sask First Female U16 Top 136 Tournament – Regina, Sask.

APRIL 9-11  

• Sask First Female U18 Top 80 Tournament – Balgonie, Sask.
• Sask First Male U18 Top 160 Tournament – Regina, Sask.

APRIL 15   

• Nominations due for annual Hockey Saskatchewan Awards
