At the midway point of the 2023 Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island, Team Sask has won a total of 17 medals, including three gold, seven silver and seven bronze.
All three of Saskatchewan’s gold medals came on Feb. 24. Saskatoon artistic gymnast Jordan Carroll started things off with a gold in the male pommel horse event, followed by fellow Saskatoon artistic gymnast Rylee Miller placing first in the female floor event. Team Sask flag bearer Luca Veeman, of Saskatoon, capped off the three golds in the day in the male mass start long track speed skating event.
On the same day, Miller added a silver medal in beam and bronze medal in uneven bars to her collection in the first half of the games, becoming Saskatchewan’s most-decorated female gymnast in Canada Games history.
Veeman is also a multi-medal winner, collecting silver in the 1,500m and bronze in the 5,000m and bronze in the 1,000m speed skating events. Fellow Saskatoon speed skater Bon Lowe won silver in the 5,000m event in the first half of the Games. Four teams also finished with silver medals in the opening week including the synchro female and synchro male gymnastics trampoline placing second, male hockey team and the male speed skating team pursuit foursome.

- Bon Lowe, silver in speed skating – male 5,000m

- Rhiann Arnold, bronze in biathlon – female 6km sprint
- Serena Dallaire, bronze (two) in long track speed skating – female 1,500m and female 3,000m
- Team Saskatchewan, bronze in female ringette
After a day off on Sunday, the Games resume on Monday as a new contingent of athletes and sports are set to get underway. The Games conclude on Sunday, with the closing ceremony.
Week 2 sports include alpine and Para alpine skiing, archery, badminton, boxing, cross country skiing and Para Nordic ski, curling (male and mixed doubles), fencing, figure skating (includes: Special Olympics), hockey (female), judo and snowboard.
